CavePlot is used for drawing maps from field surveys. As the name implies, it was specifically designed for drawing cave maps, but also works well for field maps used in geology, paleontology, archeaeology, etc. Besides the obvious station linking and conversion from polar to rectangular coordinants, CavePlot does far more. CavePlot 3.10 allows stations to be grouped together into "Sections" which can be manipulated (colored, turned On/Off, totalled, etc) as a group. Surveys can be colored by depth, Section, or station Attributes, scaled to any size, viewed and printed from any direction, etc. CavePlot also sports 2 easy but powerful data editors, and closes survey loops. There are many many more options. Please download the CavePlot demo and see what it can do for you.
The documentation for CavePlot 3.10 is contained within the two accompanying programs "CP-GenRef" and CP-GenTour". These may be run from the Finder, or from within CavePlot (by selecting them under the Apple Menu). Use the scroll bars to scroll each "page" of information. Use the Back and Next buttons, or click on the index, to move forward and back through the various "pages" of text in the Help programs.
While this version of CavePlot is only a demo, since you cannot save your changes, it is otherwise fully funtional.
